Hopscotch’s Crisis Response – April 2020

Why do we need to respond?

Hopscotch has been here for women and girls for decades, and we are here through this current crisis.

We have seen a rise in the need for services which support issues with welfare, housing, DV and other problems that can occur when people are isolated.

In response, all our services are continuing and we would like everyone to know we are here for you, whatever your issue is.

Older Women’s Services It can be lonely to be isolated without regular meet ups and activities, and our team is here to listen and support you
Youth Work Being young and isolated at home can raise big challenges. Our amazing Youth Work team are on hand to listen, support, guide and help you feel like you still have choices and options, whilst remaining safe.
Welfare Support There is such a financial pressure on many families in Camden, and our Welfare Advisor is hear to guide you through your problems towards solutions which will help you feel stable.
Employability Skills Development Many of us will be thinking about the future, past this virus. Getting ready to move into employment is something we can do right now. Our team are very experienced and ready to help you address any problems which might be stopping you move forwards.
Homecare Services Our Homecare team are working hard to make sure every service user has care which will help them through this difficult time.

We want every BAME woman who is at risk to know they are not alone. We are ready and available to support them in a culturally sensitive and personalised way, to help them achieve their goals and to get through any trauma they are experiencing.

A preventative response is also required, as we see these issues continuing well past the end of government recommended isolation.

How are we responding?

We have proactively identified those registered with Hopscotch who may have additional needs at this time and are focusing on keeping in touch with them, helping them in any way they need.

We are also encouraging BAME women at risk to call Hopscotch on the number below, from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

All are staff are fully trained to support women and girls at this time with any worries or concerns they may have. Sometimes it may feel like problems may never go away – these feelings are normal and we are here to help you feel confident about your future.
