Hopscotch is looking for a Trustee, preferably from the London Borough of Camden, with Legal Expertise

We are a community led organisation working with BAME women and families in Camden and the surrounding areas. We have a turnover of about £1.5m and we have over 90 staff members (including care workers), doing incredible work with the most vulnerable people.

We work on a number of issues including welfare support, advocacy, employment skills service and Violence Against Women and Girls. We tend to support those who are hard to reach and offer bespoke services, suited to the individual and their needs. Our expertise in understanding the barriers BAME women face has helped us form a unique approach which is person centred and effective.

We are looking to recruit a Trustee with legal experience so that we can safely and steadily grow our services, and continue to provide essential support to our community.

Trustees meet quarterly and work on the strategic vision of the charity as well as supporting the staff with matters including quality assurance, safeguarding and policies, financial oversight and fundraising. We have annual away days to discuss the broader needs of the community and the wider BAME women’s agenda, to ensure Hopscotch’s work remains relevant to those who need support.

We have Sub-Committees which helps specific services to stay on track. There are many other opportunities to get involved based on skills and availability. It is a highly engaged team with a range of expertise which enjoys working together, with our Chief Executive ensuring a very manageable workload for each Trustee.

We welcome all applications and particularly look forward to hearing from people with legal experience or with health and social care experience, with either a working knowledge or keen interest in the voluntary and community sector.

If you are passionate about raising the standard and shoring up the future of Hopscotch’s amazing work, please consider joining us by sending your CV and a cover letter to our Chief Executive, ceo@hopscotchawc.org.uk  – it could be the fulfilling role you’ve been looking for.
